Hello and welcome to this final members-only (not Only Fans) post of 2023.
The last week or two have been A Time.
Sickness (kids), preparing to evacuate for a fire on red alert a few kilometres away (didn’t need to in the end, but a wind change could’ve been interesting), a Wiggles concert (sorry to say it but that dynasty is ending, my friends), getting stung by a wasp (me), more sickness (also me), the untimely end of both my breast pump and kettle, and a smoke alarm on my bedroom ceiling that decided it needed a new battery at exactly 4.36am on the night both kids were in bed with me and their dad was away…
I’m sure there were other things too, but maybe they were mostly happening in my head? Planning, coordinating, communicating, cross checking, etc. I feel a bit like I’m limping to the finish line of a marathon, only there’ll be no break at the end of it because parenting. Awesome.
